Halloween is just around the corner. The shops are full of ghouls and goblins and the kids are asking about Trick or Treating.

Even if you don’t go all out decorating your home as a witch’s lair, we’ve gathered together some healthy food choices you can use. Some of these can be used for birthday parties too! We’ve included healthy options, not just so they help moderate the lollies but also so they can make lunchboxes fun over the coming weeks.

Jack-o-Lantern

Kids asking to carve a pumpkin but you really don’t feel that inclined? What about an orange?

These little fruit filled jack-o-lanterns will keep them happy with having that orange toothy grin and you pleased that they will be eating fruit.

This one would be great as an after school snack or fun way to present desert.

No boring sandwiches

Make their favourite sandwich and cut out the mouth and eyes per the instructions.

Ditch dull dinner vegies

Do your kids eat pumpkin? What about carrots? What about carrots that look like pumpkins? (or any other fun Halloween shape)

Trim carrot rounds into pumpkin shapes and toss them in a salad, pop them on a platter, add them to a stir fry, or steam them with the other vegies for a fun way to incorporate Halloween and get the kids to eat their vegies.
